So in celebration of winning Shindig and at the request of a few people, we’ve reissued our EP, Brave Knew Nothing on cassette again but only 16 copies, which means you should buy one before they’re gone. They include a download code and if you buy it from our store, you get a free drawing too.

So here I am wearing my bubble-wrap veil. Beside me are the last packed copies of Brave Knew Nothing to be shipped to Japan, which is why I’m wearing a Tokyo tee.

SHOW July 29th Zoo Zhop

Ahoy!

Sleuth are headlining(?) with Johnny de Courcy and guests a wee all ages show at Zoo Zhop on Main Street in Vancouver on July 29th. Doors are 8pm. $5 entrance fee.

We’ll be playing two new songs. By “new” I mean one of them was written five days ago on an autoharp. In addition, a few songs we’ve played once or twice at other shows but aren’t released anywhere. We’ll also be playing most of Brave Knew Nothing. We’ll be bringing some of our remaining tapes for sale.

So we’d love to see some pretty faces.

So I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted here. On Sunday Sleuth played for Car-Free Day on the street courtesy of Safe Amp. What I can conclude from the photos is that I will have premature wrinkles by thirty, that my Jazzmaster looks a bit massive on me which is a shame considering I wish I had a huge Gretsch semi-hollow body guitar, Julian is mysterious and Oliver looks exactly the same in every single photo: like he should be on a coin. I was happy to know that the vocals were audible (this is sometimes a problem I encounter).

The highlight of this photo is the man behind Oliver, actually.

So we’ve got a show. Basically we can somehow get in contact with awesome people all over the world and fail at it miserably in our hometown, which is why we’re simply crap at getting shows. Our ineptitude can be measured in bars of dim. On of a scale of 1 to 10 dim, we’re like an 8 dim. You love us still right?

So brighter things: June 19th on Commercial Drive in Vancouver we’re playing Car Free Day, which gives me the impression we’re playing in the street which would be awesome, but I really don’t know. I think this is an afternoon to early evening event, given it’s a Sunday and a more community-based affair as opposed to a strictly musical one. There will be other bands, but I’m not sure who has been confirmed yet. Anyway, yay. This event is being hosted by Safe Amp, who are striving to raise money in order to secure an all-ages venue for safe gigs that locals can play and attend.

Our friend Jessica Chau has taken some photos of the band, because we don’t really have any, and accept that despite hating cameras we should probably face them. By the way, I’ve been posting more and more on my tumblr account as I find it more streamlined, however, I will still update this still just less frequently. Tapes and downloads still for sale on Bandcamp and soon to be available at Scotch Tapes in Canada and Pebble Records for the kids in Europe and the U.K.
