Songs of the Week #3

July 5, 2009 § Leave a comment

Short and sweet this week.

“Leafhound” by Saint Etienne: Off of the So Tough album. My favourite track of the record.

“In a Room” by Dodgy: A britpop moment here, honestly, they looked awful and live sounded like a joke, but this is a great studio produced song, very hooky.

“Upside Down” by Diana Ross: Um… why not? I always found this song strange in that it’s the diva, Diana Ross singing about a man she loves that cheats on her, and that she actually is willing to tolerate it.

“Surfside Motel” by Doleful Lions: A truly mellow tune with a Beach Boys influence. I think it would appropriate to call this a “pretty song”.
